2010 GALA CONCERT
An evening of delightful music evoking a
‘European Holiday’
on Saturday, 28th August at 7:30 PM
Once again, we have booked the auditorium at the Broncos Leagues Club and are looking forward to a great evening of music and getting together with friends.
Our special guest artists this year are the Queensland Kodály Choir under the direction of Dr. James Cuskelly. It is a great opportunity to hear this superb choir before they depart for their New Zealand tour. The choir will join the orchestra for a dramatic finale in Der Fremersberg, a tone piece not often performed outside Germany.
You will enjoy well-known favourites like Colonel Bogey (England), Golliwog’s Cake Walk (France), Moldau, Hungarian Dances, Blue Danube Waltz and Finlandia as well as newer pieces like Zilverfloot (the Netherlands) and Espana Cani (Spain).
Seating will be at tables and refreshments are available in the auditorium. If you would like to dine at the club before the concert, there are several venues at the Club but we have been recommended to The Players Buffet and Grill, where there is a excellent all-you-can-eat hot and cold buffet from 5:30 PM. Bookings can be made on 3858 9000.
This is our major fund-raiser of the year and we hope that many of our friends and family, as well as members of the wider community will join us. As well as musical entertainment we will have a raffle with some lovely prizes.
Reminiscent as it is of the ‘old world’, our 2010 GALA CONCERT is bound to tantalise and excite anyone who loves orchestral music.

It is with profound regret that we advise members and friends that our President, Des Sanderson died suddenly on Saturday, 20 March.
Just a reminder that parking arrangements at All Hallows' School have changed. Both the Ann Street and Story Bridge entrance gates will be closed from 6 PM. We need to park in the parking area below the pool.
Go along Ann Street past the school and Antrim Street (it is one way) and then turn left into Boundary Street. Just a little way along, on the left, there is the entrance to Dodge Lane. At the end of Dodge Lane (do not turn left to Antrim Street), turn right into the school gate. You will find the parking area there.
