ABOUT THIS CONCERT

Join the Brisbane Concert Orchestra for Conductor’s Cut, a concert celebrating Matthew Schwarz’s 10 years as Musical Director of BCO. This special program features music selected by Matthew and the orchestra members, reflecting a decade of shared musical journeys.

The evening includes Holst’s majestic Jupiter, the Bringer of Jollity, selections from The Sound of Music, and the serene fifth movement of Beethoven’s Pastoral Symphony, among other works. Baritone soloist Camilo Lopez will also feature in this program, performing Mahler’s Urlicht and a song from his Rückert-Lieder cycle.

Set in the historic Concert Hall of the Old Museum Building, this concert offers a moment to reflect on and enjoy the music that has shaped the orchestra’s journey over the past decade.
